Congratulations to MMTA Member Patrick Danaher of Boston Yacht Haven in Boston who has achieved the status of certified marine manager. Danaher's designation was unanimously approved by the Association of Marina Industry's Certified Marine Manager Review Committee. He is the 166th marina operator to achieve this status. --Adapted From TradeOnlyToday.com on 10 February 2005 Kudos to MMTA Edson International's Will Keene Honored By Sail Magazine for Leadership. The president of Edson International has been named one of the industry's leaders. Will Keene was presented with SAIL Magazine's 2005 Industry Award for Leadership during the Strictly Sail Philadelphia boat show last month. The award honors people whose innovation and involvement help shape the course of the sailing industry. "Forthright, conservative and outspoken, Will stands up for what he believes is right for the sailing business, and motivates people behind these causes," said Eric Cressy, SAIL publisher, while presenting the honor. Keene, who has been president of Edson since 1989, is a board member for both Sail America and the National Marine Manufacturers Association, and served on NMMA's Facility Development Committee and Accessory Manufacturers' Board. He has also worked to support the Clean Vessel Act, and create standards for marine pump-out systems. Massachusetts-based Edson manufactures marine steering systems and accessories, boat davits, radar towers and marine pumps for sail- and powerboats.
