Greetings:

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Massachusetts Marine Trades Conference Committee, you are cordially invited to attend the 2006 Marine Trades Professional Development Conference, The Business of Boating in Massachusetts on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at the Marriott Hotel in Quincy. On Wednesday, January 18th, MMTA is honored to host one of the nation’s first Marine Dealer Certification Launch Workshops conducted by Five Star Solutions.

On Tuesday, January 17th The Business of Boating in Massachusetts is a day long conference (8AM-6PM) offering information, education, and networking opportunities for the marine trades in the Commonwealth. Designed especially for the marine trades businesses owners, managers and staff, three tracks of presentations will cover topics such as Environmental Regulations and Permitting; Law Enforcement of Boaters and Boat Dealers, Addressing the Shortage of Skilled Marine Technicians and Enhancing Your Marine Business IQ. The day will conclude with a Grow Boating-Discover Boating Campaign update by Thom Dammrich, President of the National Marine Manufacturers Association and an industry leader’s panel discussion. At the Marine Industry Reception, MMTA will present the 2006 Legislator and Education Advocate of the Year Awards.

On Wednesday, January 18th’ MMTA will host a Marine Dealer Certification Launch Workshop; the first step to becoming a recognized Certified Marine Dealer. Space is limited and reservations are accepted on a first come first served basis only and must be received no later than December 16. Take advantage of this locally held Certification Workshop and be among the first in New England to become a Certified Marine Dealer by enrolling today. Certification Registration must be received AGAIN NO LATER than December 16. For those participating in both events, overnight accommodations are available by contacting the Marriott Hotel in Quincy at 617-472-1000.

Who Should Attend?

Representatives of Marinas, Boatyards, Boat Builders, Retailers, Dealers, Brokers and Repairers and all associated with the recreational marine trades in the Commonwealth.

What Is Included?

Registration Fee Includes Access to All Conference Tracks, Keynote Presentations, sponsor displays, continental breakfast, lunch and evening reception hors d'oeuvres.

What Topics Will Be Covered?

The Conference features three (3) distinct tracks: Marinas-Boatyards, Dealers-Retailers & Service-Repairers. Breakout sessions will run concurrently and each attendee may attend any of the sessions from any of the three tracks. A detailed conference schedule will be sent to all conference registrants.
