BOSTON BOAT SHOW NEWS

URGENT BOAT SHOW "JUMP BALL".

EMAILED MESSAGES NEEDED
TONIGHT AND TOMORROW!

We have been told by some staff that the Governor's signature on the Boat Show legislation is a "jump ball" due to controversy over the amount and nature of community benefits in the bill. Others are more confident.

We have also been told our industry's phone calls are reaching some staff, not others, so now e-mails which these staff can see for themselves are very important.

Thank you for your phone calls this and last week. Please, continue to help us help you by sending an e-mail message to the four Gubernatorial staff addresses listed below. A draft e-mail is below for your use, as well. Multiple identical e-mails, but for the individualized signature, are absolutely fine, although you and your staff and family and friends can add (polite) comments as you think best. Please do not try to take on the community benefits issue, however, other than as addressed obliquely below.

Questions? Call Jamy Madeja at 617-227-8410 or email jmadeja@buchananassociates.com

Thank you in advance for your urgent action!

Please convey to Governor Romney my voice in support of immediate signature, without amendments, of HB 4493 (Gate Shows in the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center). I work in the recreational boating industry. Without this bill, signed into law now, we cannot have the annual winter boat show we have relied on for fifty years for our livelihoods year round.

Any changes to this long overdue legislation will kill our industry along with the bill. Support thousands of jobs statewide, millions of dollars in state revenues, by signing HB 4493 into law immediately. Please let me know what the Governor's decision will be.
