Six of the major boat dealers in Western Mass. joined forces to run ads in all the local newspapers prior to Father’s Day urging families to “take Dad out cruisin’ and fishin’ on our new boat”. MMTA was a major sponsor in this effort.

Among other expenditures from MMTA’s Promote Boating Fund were the Antique Boat Spring Fling on Congamond Lake in May; the Congamond Lakes Raft-up, connecting two lakes with pontoon boats to hopefully enter the Guinness World Recod book; the Ox-Bow Water ski Show team in the Eastern Regional Ski Tournament on July 31 and Aug. 1; and the antiques boat show called Baystate Woody’s to be held on the Connecticut River in August.
