  • MOORINGS AT BOSTON HARBOR ISLANDS
    August 2001

The non-profit Island Alliance is installing moorings throughout the Boston Harbor Islands National Park this summer.

Plans are to place them near Long, Peddocks, Georges, Gallups, and Rainsford Islands, available to the public for $10 during the day or $20 overnight.

Jack Roberts, former owner of Constitution Marina, has donated the moorings to the Alliance, a partnership of 13 organizations formed to oversee fund-raising and marketing efforts for the Islands. While there was some opposition from boaters who felt anchorages should be free, many mariners are not comfortable at anchor and prefer moorings of known size. Call 617-241-9640 for reservations and further information.
