While not a computer “guru”, I found the following excerpts from a recent Boston Globe article helpful if your computer is starting to get dirty-inside and out! Anti-static, lint free cloths and swabs help you get into the nooks and crannies of the keyboard. Open your “My Documents" folder and find files that can be deleted or moved onto a floppy disk. Check the efficiency of your operating system by hitting “updates.cnet.com” and download CatchUp (Windows only) that will scan your PC for out-of-date software and link you to updates. Wipe out old e-mail messages—including your “sent mail” folder. Visit “email.about.com and click “Tips and Tricks”. Once your computer is clean and humming, Go Boating!
