A bill to significantly amends the existing dealer/manufacturer law passed in 2001 which had been opposed by dealers and manufacturers, was passed and expected to be signed by the Governor.
The original bill called for mandatory manufacturer buy-back provisions and NADA pricing on returned parts. The new law is reportedly more equitable between dealer and manufacturer responsibilities. It is the result of negotiations between NMMA members and metro Atlanta dealers responsible for passage of the original law. NMMA did not feel mandating specific components of these agreements should require government involvement.
