Bombardier Recreational Products Boats and Outboard Engines Division have appointed Luke Brunelle, Jr. of Brunelle’s Marina and Past President and present Director of MMTA, to the inaugural 12-member North American council of Evinrude and Johnson outboard engine dealers. The council will advise Bombardier on dealer issues affecting the outboard brands. Tom Cox, First Vice President of MMTA, has been nominated as a Director of the Marina Operators Association of America (MOAA) for a two-year term. Elections will take place during a MOAA meeting at the Marine Industry Legislative Conference being held May 6 & 7 in Washington, DC. Tom is representing MMTA at the conference which will address issues impacting our businesses. Making Waves: NMMA has a new feature for your website – or for information about your Senators or Representatives. With this program you can contact your Senator and/or Representative with a click of a button. Go to www.nmma.org and click on “Making Waves” logo on the lower right hand side of the screen. On the NMMA Federal Government Relations page that comes up, you will find a “Web Sticker” box which will then give you a choice of stickers to place on your web site – if you don’t have one yet, it will give you the names and addresses in any event. You can also request weekly updates by e-mail of their votes.
Bruce White, Vice President of Robert E. White instruments, Inc., died April 2, 2002. He had been active in the family business for about 15 years after a career on the West Coast in the commercial shipping industry. Bruce’s brother, Ridge White, is a Director of the MMTA.
