OVERVIEW: The Warranty Administrator is responsible for completing all functions involved with the compilation and submission of dealer claims for reimbursement of warranty parts and labor for the assigned service facilities.

 

KEY TASKS:          

- Submit pre-authorizations to insure the maximum reimbursement for worked performed and for the highest possible approval ratio.

- Review pre-authorizations to insure expiration does not occur prior to claim submission. 

- Appeal valid pre-authorization that were denied by the manufacturer.

- Reconcile work orders with pre-authorizations and make adjustments as needed to facilitate claim submission.

- Review claims for labor or material adjustments with service manager/service writer so that the customer and the appropriate MarineMax departments are aware of their financial obligation.

- Insure all parts requested by the manufacturer are returned within the timeframe specified by the manufacturer.

- Responsible for Collection of Warranty Credits. 

- Negotiate and or appeal for adverse adjustments to claims implemented by manufacturers.

- Submit accurate and approved claims within the Manufacturer’s specified time limits.

- Insure timely answers from manufacturers through follow up of dealer’s claim.

- Insure recall notifications are initiated properly, work documented, and all work is completed.

- Research sublet orders and any other backup information necessary to file appropriate warranty claims.

- Train service writers and parts personnel in the proper procedure for warranty repairs, parts ordering, and pre-authorization submission.

- Work closely with the accounting department on warranty receivables to ensure prompt collection of credits due and the proper handling of credits.

- Reconcile manufacturer’s credits with both the pre-authorization and the actual cost of work performed.

- Prepare reports showing dollar volume of claims paid, claims requested, elapsed time for claim resolution, and outstanding claims.

- Continuously improve the timely and efficient collection of factory credits.

- Hire, train, motivate and monitor performance of warranty staff.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or higher.

• Minimum of four years of industry experience in composite construction and repair using fiberglass, Kevlar, carbon fiber, and polyester, vinylester, and epoxy resin systems.

• Strong practical experience with open and closed-molding techniques, including wet-layup, infusion, and pre-preg.

• Experience in yacht construction and repair is a strong plus.

• Experience in CNC programming and cutting is a plus.

Sea Tow Boston is seeking full-time USCG licensed captains to operate our asssistance towboats in Boston Harbor, North and South Shore. Candidtates must have a US Coast Guard license (with assistance towing endorsement), be customer service oriented, love spending time on the water, be detail and safety oriented.

 

- Requires valid USCG Captain’s license with Commercial Assistance Towing endorsement, unless exempt by tonnage. Near Coastal endorsement preferred, but Inland endorsement may be considered.

- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (must be enrolled in a random drug testing program during employment)

- Excellent boat handling skills necessary, towing training will be provided.

- Ability to use electronic technology to efficiently provide service.

Lead Technician- 3-5 years’ experience in Mercury outboards and MerCruiser sterndrives. Everyday tasks range from winterizing, shrink-wrapping, diagnosing and new boat commissions.  This role will also require the ability to assist other technicians and interact with customers.   

Parts Associate- Experience with Mercury/MerCruiser, Johnson/Evinrude parts. Knowledge in parts ordering, returns, warranty. Currently using Commander point of sale system.

Marine Technician- 1-3 years’ experience.  Assist in everyday boat yard activities including winterizing outboards, shrink-wrapping, some engine repair, spring commissioning.

Yard Associate- 1-3 year’s experience in the marine industry.  Ability to drive forklift, truck and hydraulic pontoon trailer.  Responsibilities include assisting in unloading new boats, moving boats in and out of storage, shrink wrapping, assisting service/sales departments.

Dock crew- This role requires weekend hours for removal and installation of Floe and shore master dock systems.  Ability to read and follow instructions for boat lift assembly and dock accessories.

We are looking for an experienced Yard Hand / Equipment Operator to join our team. The Yard Hand / Equipment Operator is responsible for moving, hauling, and launching all vessels on location, as well as assisting with carrying out tasks required to successfully achieve the service department objectives. The successful candidate would be offered the opportunity to acquire additional skill sets within the boatyard and marina operations. Basic boat handling skills are required; ability to operate power and sail vessels is preferred.

  • Operate heavy equipment including, but not limited to:  forklift, travelift, and hydraulic trailer to move, haul, and launch boats
