  • MASSACHUSETTS MARINE TRADES EDUCATIONAL TRUST

Members should have received a mailing concerning the MMTET. This is your non-profit foundation set up to provide marine educational/technical training in MA.

A recent survey by MMTA’s Education committee concluded that we have an immediate need for as many as 1600 technical personnel with over 5,000 needed within the next five years!

Current Trust initiatives include the awarding of scholarships to deserving individuals pursuing a career in MA marine trades, and a vocational school initiative to assist in the establishment and continuance of marine technology programs on the high school and college levels across the state.

The key goal of the Trust is to encourage a steady stream of young persons entering our field. The hope is this will solve our employee problems and enable us to properly serve our customers.

To accomplish these programs, MMTET is seeking and soliciting funding. If you wish further information or assistance with tax-deductible donations, memorials, or bequests, (wills), contact Ed Lofgren at 781-749-3250 (3asales@3amarine.com)

We ask that you help this cause by contributing what you can today. For additional request forms and the survey result, contact Ray Gaffey 781-545-2803 or Ed Lofgren 781-749-3250. Visit the MMTET web pages for more information.
